The 21st annual Southern Tennis Escape Tournament will be held March 7-9, 2014, at the beautiful Kiawah Island Resort, Kiawah Island, SC. Open to all skill levels, the tournament format will be doubles and mixed doubles*. Players may enter up to two events. If any one level does not have enough participants to make a draw, it may be moved to the next highest level OR a singles draw may be created. You are guaranteed a minimum of two matches in each event.
Please note – This is a three-day tournament with finals on Sunday. Early departures affect the tournament schedule, so please plan accordingly.
Practice courts will be available on March 7th after 1:00pm. Play will begin on Friday, March 6th at 8:00am. A full consolation round will be included as court time permits. Most matches will be played on clay courts however, Kiawah also has hard courts so your match could be on either surface. If inclement weather occurs, the scoring system may change to accommodate matches. Proper tennis attire is required.
We sold out the tournament in 2013 by January 8th. So, please plan accordingly for next year. Make sure you enter early….but don’t enter often!

2013 Tournament
- Thank you to everyone who participated. We hope you had a wonderful time of good tennis, a gorgeous resort, good food, and cold drinks! Thank you for being flexible with schedules when the flow didn’t happen as perfectly as we planned.

- We continued our tradition of collecting used rackets, tennis bags, and ball hoppers for USTA’s inner-city tennis program (Atlanta Youth Tennis Foundation: a non-profit organization whose mission is to “promote the physical and mental development of underserved youth through tennis and education). We collected more this year than we ever have before! The rackets, bags and ball hoppers will go to good use.
